1300 sq m completed in a single phase of fourteen days during the Summer Shutdown.
The floor was heavily contaminated and the surface was undulating and pitted. There were numerous repairs and a smoothing compound running the length of the building to be removed.
To allow Tarkett to assess the performance and suitability of the floor, we were pleased to install trial patches free of charge 1 year prior to commencing the refurbishment.
The removal, preparation and installation were project managed entirely by Elgood.
Tarkett required a floor strong enough to withstand their day to day use.
A floor that can be cleaned routinely to enhance house keeping.
Preparation ranged from Milling/Planing to remove and reduce the floor, breakers to attend to edges and vacuum contained shotblasting with diamond grinding to prepare the concrete.
We installed Ardex’s K80 high Strength Industrial Smoothing Screed to an average thickness of approx 10 mm.
The screed was finidhed with our Britdura 750 Highbuild Solvent Free Epoxy Floor Coating in Light Grey and Slate Grey. The floor was laid to Tarkett’s floor plan with Yellow Lines, crossings and red boxes to highlight Fire Extinguisher Points.
